Exclude people from a chart
Your data source may include service, administrator, test, or other accounts that you do not want to display in your organization chart. Conditional rules let you automatically exclude these accounts based on their data.
This is especially useful for charts built from Microsoft Entra ID, where directory data may include accounts used for administration or automation that should not appear in a people chart.
Create an exclusion rule
- Enter Edit Mode.
- Navigate to the Conditional Rules page from the Chart Settings menu.
- Select Add New Rule.
- Select Add a Condition, choose the data column you want to test, select an operator such as Contains, and enter one or more values.
- Set the effect action to Exclude from Chart. Matching individuals or accounts are removed from both the chart and search results.
Use the Focus On action
Use the Focus On action to create a filter that displays only chart boxes matching your chosen conditions, making it the opposite of an exclusion rule.
You can allow users to control the rule from the Side Panel, making it easy to focus the chart on specific data or box types, such as people in a particular country or selected role types.
- Enter Edit Mode.
- Navigate to the Conditional Rules page from the Chart Settings menu.
- Select Add New Rule.
- Select Add a Condition, then choose the data column or box type you want to test. Select an operator and enter one or more values where required.
- Set the effect action to Focus On. When the rule is turned on, only matching chart boxes are displayed.
- If required, allow users to turn the rule on or off from the Side Panel.
