Create a chart from a SharePoint list
To create a chart from a SharePoint list, TeamOrgChart requires the Microsoft Graph Sites.Read.All permission.
This is a one-time permission grant that can be completed from the permissions guide or during chart creation when TeamOrgChart detects that the permission is required.
Organization charts created from SharePoint lists are dynamic and update as the list content changes.
Build a chart from a SharePoint list
Your SharePoint list must include a primary key column that uniquely identifies each person or position and a parent column that identifies the manager or parent position.
- Grant the required Microsoft Graph permission. This must be completed by a Global Administrator and is only required once.
- From the Dashboard or Chart Selector, select Create a chart.
- Enter a name for your chart and select the SharePoint list data source.
- Search for and select the SharePoint site that contains your list.
- Select the list that contains your chart data.
- Select the primary key column that uniquely identifies each person or position.
- Select the parent column that identifies each person's manager or parent position.
- If required, identify columns that contain names, email addresses, departments, and other key information.
- Select Save to create the chart.
What if I only see one chart box?
If only one chart box appears, TeamOrgChart may not be able to match people to their managers. Go to the Data Health page and run a check to identify the issue.
