Run data health checks

Chart administrator role required

TeamOrgChart includes a Data Health feature to help you identify data issues and improve consistency. A default Data Health report is provided and can be customized, allowing you to add, modify, or remove checks as needed.

The default report checks your data for:

  • Missing or empty values
  • Duplicate unique IDs
  • Missing managers
  • Circular references

Run a data health check

  1. Navigate to the Chart Health page from the Views menu on the chart bar.
  2. Select Run Analysis to review the data in your chart.
  3. Review the results, including the chart data overview, chart configuration, and any conditional rules that exclude people from the chart.
  4. Select View All Affected to view and export a complete list of people affected by a check.
  5. For charts based on Microsoft Entra ID, open a person's profile in your tenant if you need to update the source data and have the required permissions.

Customize data checks

  1. Select Edit Checks.
  2. Modify or remove existing checks, or select Add New Check.
  3. Enter a name for the check, then choose the type of check you want to run.
  4. If required, select the column and value you want to check.
  5. Set the severity to indicate whether a result should be treated as an error, warning, or informational message.
  6. Select Save Changes, then exit Edit Mode. The new check will run the next time you select Run Analysis.

When to run data health

Run a data health check after creating a new chart, before sharing a chart with colleagues, and after significant changes to your source data. This helps identify issues before they affect navigation, search, reporting lines, or chart exports.
