Navigate a Chart
TeamOrgChart4XL offers a variety of tools to help you explore your organization's structure, navigate across chart levels, and find the people and information you need.
Employee Search
Use the chart search box to quickly find individuals within your organization.
This search box uses the fields you have chosen to display in your chart boxes to return results, such as name, job title or department, so you can search using any of those values.
When performing a search, click the 'Filter Table' button in the results list to filter your data table to show only the employees that have matched you search.
This feature is especially useful when making bulk updates. For example, search for the term 'Manager' to find all employees with 'Manager' in their job title, and then apply a background color to that group directly in your Excel table.
Clicking on an employee from the search results will instantly highlight that person in the chart and move to that person in your org chart, allowing for quick navigation and editing.
Jump to the Top of your Chart
Use the 'Top of the Chart' button in the chart toolbar. This will automatically navigate to and center the view on the individual positioned at the top of your chart's hierachy.
Chart Levels
Each individual's chart box includes a 'Nav' icon, which enables you to move up or down through your chart's hierarchy. This makes it easy to explore larg organizational structures one level at a time, without confusion.
Enable 'Auto-Filter' from the chart toolbar to filter your data table to automatically reflect your chart as you navigate through your organization.
Via your Data Table
Toggle the 'Navigate on Table Select' in the chart toolbar.
When enabled, selecting a row in your data table will immediatly focus on that person in the org chart.
