Matrix Organizational Chart Solution
TeamImprover worked with a leading UK health care provider to deliver an effective solution to meet their organisational charting requirements.
A need was identified to implement a system that would allow staff to quickly understand the structure of the teams they are assigned onto, increase cross-team communication and to allow new-joiners to the organisation to easily orientate themselves.

The Solution
Custom Home Page
TeamOrgChart was configured to display a custom home page for each staff member showing that individuals:
Matrix reporting structure
Current projects
Direct reports and matrix managers
Each element was hyperlinked allowing staff to intuitively browse the organization structure.
A customised search option allowed simple searching of staff, projects and portfolios.
Line Management Chart
A line management chart was configured this provides a traditional, browsable organization chart.
The organization chart combined data from a variety of sources (SQL Server and SharePoint Online)
Additional Info
The "Information Pop Up" on the Line Management Chart was enhanced to display the matrix of the individual as well as information from a back office HR system and Office 365.
The current active projects assigned to each individual are displayed and linked to the "Project" organization chart.
Project-based Charts
Consistent and accurate "Project" organisation charts were generated.
These are dynamically generated from the clients staff allocation system and change as staff are allocated to and roll-off projects.
Branding
TeamOrgChart can be branded and it was a simple task to take the clients in-house style guide and apply the appropriate logo and colour scheme.
Architecture
The client selected to self-host an instance of TeamOrgChart.
We worked with the their IT team to install, configure and commission the instance within their Azure cloud subscription and provided subject matter input into their Change Control process.
